Designer Tabs

  • updated 2 yrs ago

Description

When working in the LogicNets Designer, it is often very useful to be able to open a new logicnet or project resource while working in another one and to move between the two (or more) logicnets, tables, or other resources as you model your application. Starting with version 7.4, the Designer tabs feature allows you to have more than one item open at a time in the main viewer.

Node Type/Used With: This feature works at the Designer level and is available for all framework-based and non-framework-based projects.

Use

To open a logicnet, a table, or other resource in a new tab, hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and click the item to open it from the list in the project menu. The system opens the item in a new tab. If you were in a different item when you performed this action the system leaves that item open in a separate tab and you can go back to it at any time. If you are in the search area at the bottom of the screen, you can also SHIFT-click to open any returned search results.

There is no limit to the number of tabs you have open at one time. If you click a logicnet or resource without clicking the SHIFT key the system opens the new item in the current tab.

When you copy a logicnet from one project and paste it into another, the system will open a tab with the new logicnet.

Switch Between Tabs

To switch between tabs you can click the tab name or you can click the name of the logicnet in the project pane. To read the title of a tab, over your mouse over it.

Close a Tab

You can leave open as many tabs as you like. To close a single tab click the X button on the tab or right-click the tab and select Close

To close all of the tabs at once, right-click on a tab and select Close All. The system will close all but the tab you are currently in.
