AUC Module: Emergency Option

In the status indicator box at the top of each AUC guideline is the Emergency option. Selecting this indicates that this order is an emergency case that does not require the completion of an AUC consultation under PAMA.

If you click the Emergency button in the status indicator section at the top of the guideline, you bypass the need to provide patient scenario information, progress in the pathway, or review alternative imaging options. The system immediately leaves the guideline view and processes the consultation results, including generating the HCPCS code MA that indicates an emergency scenario. You can then review and submit the consultation. Notice that in the review screen the system annotates the outcome value with the text (emergency).
