AUC Module: Override

When you open a guideline and as you progress down a pathway providing patient scenario information, the system is constantly looking ahead to verify that the imaging service you selected for validation appears downstream as a potentially appropriate recommendation. If your navigation precludes the possibility of reaching your selected imaging service, the system displays not appropriate in the status indicator box. 

The AUC portal does not limit your ability to proceed with any service you deem appropriate to your specific patient scenario, so you will see the (override) option appear after the "not appropriate" status message. This option exists so you can decide, based on your expertise, to continue with your selected Imaging Service and disregard the advice of the Guideline.

When you select the override option, the system creates a consultation result and appends (override) to the outcome.
