  • updated 1 mth ago

License Basis: Per named designer user

Notes:

  1. Used in conjunction with the Designer (D)
  2. Allows Designers to create collaborative LogicNets workspaces for storing projects and published packages and making them sharable between different Designer accounts and users including separate LogicNets installations or instances
  3. Is available in conjunction with the Deployment Manager add-on option, a module that allows enterprise management of applications deployed from Shared Workspaces (see the Deployment Manager article)

LN-WSP Description

Shared Workspaces is a virtually repository for managing LogicNets applications that enables collaboration among authoring staff or even between teams of authors. Multiple designer users, each working with their own content, can use Shared Workspaces in conjunction with the general project versioning capability to efficiently share and jointly develop, manage, and deploy their applications between multiple user or organizational workspaces. The component is a valuable option for applications with:

  • Multiple authoring participants
  • Frequent content updating and version creation
  • Numerous underlying projects/packages potentially on independent maintenance and release cycles
  • Sophisticated deployment and lifecycle management needs
  • Enterprise-level or mission-critical production processing status

Shared Workspaces allows LogicNets designer users to set up virtual content repositories where they can place select versions of their projects to securely share with other internal or external users they invite for collaboration or joint access. These users can provide read-only or read/write access to their content, and the system combines versioning with an easy-to-use check-in/check-out capability so multi-user collaboration does not threaten content integrity and enables flexibility for the proper management of content -- even with multiple owners, editors, and reviewers.

Services and Deployment Considerations

No additional services are required for basic deployment of Shared Workspaces.

Optional LogicNets Training Services (LN-TS) are available to teach designer users how to create and manage workspaces and enable optimal collaboration between users working in multiple workspaces.

Note that Shared Workspaces has an optional add-on option for managing the deployment of published packages across an integrated Development/Test/Acceptance/Production server topology.
